Avengers, Steve/Tony, "Boyfriend"

“My boyfriend’s here and you’re gonna be in trouble,” Tony says, smirking as he draws out the last word in the sentence and sing-songs it in the most annoying way possible.

The Evil Scientist of the Week glares at him as the explosions keep going off.

Damn, if Steve’s letting Clint fire this many explosive arrows, he must be pretty pissed off. But then, places reversed, he’d be doing the same damn thing.

There’s a long moment before the door of the control room busts open, revealing Thor and Steve. Thor takes care of Evil Scientist – Tony doesn’t know his name (if the guy told it to him, he wasn’t paying attention) – as Steve makes quick work of the ropes holding Tony to the chair.

“My hero,” he teases as Steve pulls him to his feet.

Steve rolls his eyes fondly, and Tony turns to the freshly-subdued Evil Scientist and says, grinning, “Told you so.”
